Genre

 Genre

I wonder how people who have never known what music is react, i wonder if they ever are lost, or if they ever feel like they're missing something. I know that me personally I don't know how I would last, if I never heard music before. Because music is something important to the world, and music is something that everyone needs to survive, and last.
A painter paints pictures on canvas.  But musicians paint their pictures on silence.  ~Leopold Stokowski
Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.  ~Berthold Auerbach

All deep things are song.  It seems somehow the very central essence of us, song; as if all the rest were but wrappages and hulls!  ~Thomas Carlyle
If the King loves music, it is well with the land.  ~Mencius
Without music life would be a mistake.  ~Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche
Take a music bath once or twice a week for a few seasons.  You will find it is to the soul what a water bath is to the body.  ~Oliver Wendell Holmes
If a composer could say what he had to say in words he would not bother trying to say it in music.  ~Gustav Mahler
Why waste money on psychotherapy when you can listen to the B Minor Mass?  ~Michael Torke
And the night shall be filled with music,
And the cares that infest the day
Shall fold their tents like the Arabs
And as silently steal away.
~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, The Day Is Done
He who sings scares away his woes.  ~Cervantes
Music was my refuge.  I could crawl into the space between the notes and curl my back to loneliness.  ~Maya Angelou, Gather Together in My Name

These are the quotes I live by, and I feel that these quotes are, words in my head, that someone else said. But I still wonder how a person lives with no choice of music or no choie of genre?

The sound waves bounce off the wall and vibrate like never before heard of. She sits in a corner and hold her hears, to the loudness and roughness of the music playing. She looks around and see’s music, music, poster, posters, sound waves all around. Which should she choose from which one is better, which one has helped in their life, which one gives them inspiration. Anthony Hamilton, Blaq Soul Music, Aretha Franklin, Motown, Posters all over the walls. The big stereo boom box blasts out the sound of hate, love, and affection. It blasts out the sounds of soul, then the sounds of hip hop. The pictures of Jay-Z, Common, Kanye West, Biggie Smalls, Tupac, Wale, and Hip Hop! The pictures make the sound of choice of decision, of confusion. She can ‘t decide she can’t hear. She can hear but she can’t see. She can’t see the sounds of peace. She can’t see the sounds of love, she can’t see the sounds of inspiration. She feel’s like books all around, she feels like “shhhhh keep quiet” signs all around her wall. She doesn’t see the Soul Music posters anymore, she doesn’t see the sound waves of Hip Hop anymore. She see’s silence, she see’s calmness, she see’s “the light”. She enters a world like no other world, she enters a place like no other place. The sign says welcome to Genre ,“The free world”; People walk around with headphones in their ears, they walk to bob their heads, they walk and dance, they walk and talk poetic thoughts. A world where music is united, like a ball of many colors, or an America of music, a melting pot of expression. She makes the decision, the decision to express her self. She expresses herself through her music, she expresses her choice, she runs to add, and returns. She’s now in the bed, headphones in her ear, boom box in her hand blasting, she now see the sounds of the Soul Music Poster, she see’s the posters of Hi Hop, and the dance of Pop, the craziness of Rock, the clapping of Gospel, the mixing of all, she experiences Genre, and experienced something called shuffle. She shuffle’s to her own portable boom box, and she shuffle’s, into the worlds portable boom box.
